Overview

The certificate used for all cardconnect.com domains will be updated on Wednesday, April 22nd, 2026.

If you are currently using the CardConnect SSL certificate, you will need to update your local certificate by Wednesday, April 22nd, 2026. This SSL certificate enables encryption of sensitive data between your systems and the user's internet browser.

Looking ahead, the industry is moving to shorter maximum certificate validity periods (down to 45 days). This internet-wide standards change will require more frequent renewals and more automated certificate updates across all service providers. With this shift, we will no longer provide TLS/SSL certificates in advance.

What’s an SSL certificate?

An SSL certificate is a data file that protects the communication between a website and its users by verifying and encrypting information so that sensitive data isn’t intercepted by any unintended parties.

What do I need to do?

If you are currently using the CardConnect SSL certificate, you must update your local certificate by Wednesday, April 22nd, 2026.
